Psalm 23:1
A Psalm of David.
The Lord is my shepherd; I
shall not want.
Many recite the first verse of Psalm 23, and in their minds
are really thinking:
"The Lord is my Shepherd, and I'm glad he is."
And yet their lives are filled with "want."
Those who come to know him as the Shepherd of their lives,
after he has
saved their souls, do not "want," because as
they follow him he always
satisfies them with his Holy Word, and as they keep on coming
to him
for more and more of it, day by day, they taste more and more
of how
GRACIOUS is really is, and he becomes more and more PRECIOUS
to them, to the extent that HIS person satisfies
all their WANTS.
1 Peter 2:2-4
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the
word, that ye may grow thereby: [3] If so be ye
have tasted that the Lord is gracious. [4] To whom
coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed
indeed of men, but chosen of
God, and PRECIOUS,
The
Lord is my Shepherd
